Hittin' the Note is a quarterly music publication that began in 1992 as a print resource for fans of the Allman Brothers Band. Evolving from those early 16 page issues, each issue of Hittin' the Note now contains over 70 pages of insightful music information about artists whose influences have been drawn from the true Americana sounds of blues, country, and jazz. Just as these same sounds of music influenced the direction of the Allman Brothers Band, they guide the direction of Hittin' the Note. The staff here at Hittin' the Note is here to bring our readers closer to the music that touches all of our lives.

Hittin' the Note contains interviews with musicians, articles of the past and present day, show reviews, CD, book and video reviews, a medium of exposure for up and coming musicians, and much, much more. It has been our pleasure to bring our readers interviews with Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Chuck Leavell, Warren Haynes, Eric Clapton, Susan Tedeschi, David Crosby, Steve Earle, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, producer Tom Dowd, Tinsley Ellis, Jimmy Herring, Col. Bruce Hampton, Lee Roy Parnell, Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, Lucinda Williams and Derek Trucks, amongst others. Hittin' the Note will continue to bring our readers in-depth interviews with the musicians who continue to enlighten others with their gift of song. Receiving an issue of Hittin' the Note in your mailbox certainly beats those monthly utility bills!
