Hittin' the note is a quarterly publication which focuses on the music of the Allman Brothers Band and other artists whose roots are drawn from the true Americana sounds of blues, jazz, soul, bluegrass and country. Hittin' the Note contains interviews with musicians, articles of the past and present day, show reviews, CD, book and video reviews, a medium of exposure for up and coming musicians, letters, and much, much more. First published in the summer of 1992 as a small 16 page publication, Hittin' the Note has enjoyed six expanding years as it has grown into a top-flight publication, enjoying both national and international distribution.

It has been our pleasure in past issues to bring our readers interviews with Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Chuck Leavell, Warren Haynes, Tom Dowd, Lucinda Williams, Lee Roy Parnell, David Crosby, and Steve Earle, amongst others. In the future, Hittin' the Note will continue to meet with genuine artists and discuss their music and life, in addition to our coverage of the ever evolving musical experience we know as the Allman Brothers Band. As the next millenium beckons, Hittin' the Note is looking to carry on its tradition of bringing our readers closer to the musicians and artists who have been able to make a career out of enlightening others with song.
